From 8 to 17 July in the squares, streets and theaters of Perugia
Not only big names and big numbers, with a promising lineup that includes over 250 events spread over nine stages, but once again jazz for all, served in an incredibly beautiful environment, in which the solemnity of medieval architecture is in harmony with the pleasing notes.
For ten days the historical center of Perugia become a veritable city of music, shows and concerts that take place at any time of day, from noon until late at night, in a casual, holiday atmosphere: Umbria Jazz, which represents continuity with the past, the event created and immediately exploded in the summer of 1973, in homage to the formula that made it famous in the world of entertainment and costumes.
Next to the "jazz on the road", traditional is the appointment with the STREET PARADE, and the "emerging jazz" represented by the emerging young talents, there are the undisputed star, that will perform at ARENA SANTA GIULIANA, giving rise to evenings of great music and great emotion.
It 's so the Tribute to Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock , Wayne Shorter and Marcus Miller performing, the highly anticipated evening of Carlos Santana "Guitar Heaven 2011", the Italian premiere Liza Minnelli, who will perform July 13 , the magical brazilian night with Sergio Mendes and Gilberto Gil, who will make you dream with their persuasive notes, the amazing return of B.B. King and the incredible voice of Natalie Cole screen headed by The Original Blues Brothers Band.
Difficult to name them all but necessary to give space to the Italian musicians and their jazz style, which increasingly makes its way onto the international scene; will go up on stage at the TEATRO PAVONE, among others: Stefano di Battista, Gianluca Petrella, Gabriele Mirabassi, Roberto Gatto New Octet, Francesco Cafiso Quartet Blue Island.

We have already indicated the Santa Giuliana Arena and the Teatro Pavone, impressive stage, ready to welcome the public of large numbers; there are also the most intimate jazz clubs to attend impromptu jam session, drinking a glass of wine, jazz or restaurants where you can sample local delicacies while enjoying a note after note.
And then the jazz on the road, free and open, more accessible and easy listening, the soundtrack that Perugia offers its visitors in these 10 days of great sound. From brunch time to late night music does not stop in the most picturesque spots of Perugia historic center and Carducci Gardens.
