Featuring exhibits, models, animations, movies and multimedia tools, allows for a real journey to discover the history and traditions of the civilization of oil and oil production.
Located in the striking of the former convent of San Francesco, the Museum is divided into four sections: Botany, We know the oil and the olive, the olive tree symbol of Peace, History of the Olive. The news on the history, botany and nell'agronomia, panels are provided with data from the National Research Center, the cartoons of Ro Marcenaro are intended for small audiences.
Sophisticated mechanisms allow visitors to taste and learn to distinguish different types of oil, while a corner is intended for chemical operations designed to determine the acidity.
Then, for those who want to enrich your table with new and tasty dishes, you can print out the recipes stored in a computer, compiled by chef Angelo Paracucchi. In the museum space is also an 'important private collection of archaeological finds - provided by Jean Pierre and Fiorella Cottier - linked to the symbolism of the olive oil and use, among them being a valuable collection of oil lamps, some of which eighth century BC Phoenician production. There is also a big press with three screws, built in late 1700 and early 1800's and a millstone traditional.
