Between Rome and Florence ... In this way we often Umbrian abroad, indicate to foreigners the location of our region, a simplistic but useful way to identify the geographic area using the global reputation of Florence and Rome, but also to suggest meaningful richer when you consider the history that has gone through all of central Italy. In fact, Umbria and Rome and Tuscia, then Tuscany has always had shares historical, political, artistic and natural wonders that can be our guide for routes and issues shared in a hypothetical macro-area tourism. To understand and know the Umbria it is therefore fall into a broader historical context, which however implies more directly or indirectly both Florence and Rome in a very long journey: from the old Tirreno-Tusci-Etruscans, by Osci, Umbria, Sabini, to the Romans, from the Middle Ages, Papal State Unification of Italy, this area was for centuries a natural communication route along the valleys of the Tiber River and its tributaries as short along the Apennine ridge.
In Umbria, and its small towns and villages, the marks left by history and art have a nearly complete unique, comparable only to the eternal city such as Florence and Rome, in this sense we could call it-city-region-and we could interpret the thread connecting the Umbria to the "two so real city", with the advantage of many different spaces and rhythms suited to the enjoyment of his wealth and artistic cultural landscape. Certainly share the desire of those who come to Italy for the first time to visit Florence and Rome, but more pleasant and will complete the trip itinerary if you will put our Umbria which, given its objective geographical extent, it resembles a city board, polycentric and naturalistic.
