Similar To Acquasparta, in That Its Origins Are From The Roman Era

It is similar to Acquasparta, in that its origins are from the Roman era. Its name comes from the Hannibal's Carthaginians settled here as their defensive position. Other defensive centres show similar constructions of the Byzantine style who in the late Middle Ages reserved a corridor of passage between Ravenna and Rome. It was a part of the lands of Spoleto and then the Abbey of Farta (therefore Todi).
