![]() It was originally a Roman centre from the second century. It has a medieval perimeter wall and several churches, S. Illuminata, the abbey of San Faustino and SS. Fidenzio and Terenzio which has a presbytery and crypt., abbeys and crypts documented by ruins from Roman springs and catacombs from the XI century. In the nearby church of S Maria in Pantano there is an ancient temple probably to the pagan god of Mars from which the settlement is indicated. There is also the bridge Fonnaia built by the Romans to cross one part of the Flaminian Way. |
