| Town: Guardea | |
![]() It is in a splendid position overlooking the Tiber giving an extensive panorama. It was built by Germanic people perhaps in the late Middle Ages as a fortified town but then abandoned due to landslides. A fief of the counts of Marsciano, there are the remains of a tower, the Castle del Poggio, and a beautiful monastery erected around the year 1000 by the Camaldolesi monks and the church of Santa illuminata. |
