![]() At 320 mt it gets its name from the thermal springs here the Latin name Ad Aquas Partas. Situated toward the Martani mountains, it looks down on the river Naia valley and used to control a section of via Flaminia. The Accademia dei Licei was founded in the 1600's and in 1624 Galileo worked here in the splendid Renaissance building which is still the university today. The waters are rich in calcium and carbonates. In medieval times it was part of the Arnolfo estates, reigned by the Duke of Spoleto then the abbey of Farta, the Comune of Todi and the Cesi princes. |
