More Colorfull And Fun Than Ever !
You buy everything you buy more ..
The Fiera dei Morti is the traditional fair of Perugia, taking place in this time of the year. This exhibition, with ancient origins, was once called the "All the Saints Fair" and had the main function of trade in agricultural products and livestock. With the passage of time has turned into a real market where you can find every kind of objects: leather goods, linens, clothing, shoes, books, records, hardware, housewares, rugs, flowers, etc..
What is most striking is the party atmosphere, intense colors and scents that make the walk between the desks carefree and pleasant, even with the bitter cold typical of this period. Among demonstrations of cookware, dishes and pottery stalls of any kind no one can resist the purchase of objects, from the useful to the most extravagant and it ends up that you always comes back with a fair booty.
And as appetite comes by walking ... you easily fall into temptation of sweet caramel, nougat, candy, caramelized apples and the traditional roasted chestnuts, and for more robust appetites the "porchetta sandwich" is ideal or the "torta al testo" with ham and cheese, typical of Umbria.
Original and eye-catching is certainly the section dedicated to handmade products, come from other world cities twinned with Perugia and became part of the tradition of the fair. To soaps and perfumes of Aix en Provence, crystals of Bratislava, and other crafts from the twin Tubingen, Potsdam, Grand Rapids and Seattle, the municipality of Perugia devotes a special place in the heart of the city's historic center, Piazza Italia, Corso Vannucci and Via Oberdan, where they set up all the other stands of crafts: ceramics, glass, wrought iron, wood, textiles and food delicacies of all kinds.
For the children, and "not only", a large space near the Fair is dedicated to Luna Park, in the local dialect called "BARACCONI", whose duration is extended for the entire month of November.
