The Most Famous City Trekking Is Back in The Center Of Perugia
The end of October is coming closer and Urban Trekking in Perugia is there, the initiative now in its eighth edition, which attracts an increasing number of participants because it suits everyone, from children to grandparents, trained and less trained.
An original and fun way to keep in shape the mind and the physical, following cultural itineraries without the use of means of transport if not his own legs!
Visit cities never seen before, this year will be 31 to participate, walking to places that speak of historical events, accompanied by tourist guides, or review the same cities with a new spirit, following the steps proposed by the trekking of every city in the map for.
These are not common itineraries, but inspired by particular issues. This year, and could not be otherwise, will be the turn of the Risorgimento.
Urban Trekking Perugia - 30 and October 31 - will take us to places that speak of unity, squares and streets dedicated to the characters that have made our country one nation. Besides the most illustrious names, Corso Cavour, Corso Garibaldi, Via Mazzini, Piazza Italy, Corso Bersaglieri, rediscover together the local heroes, less known but no less important for our national unity. Guardabassi, Danzetta, Faina, Ansidei, Brunamonti, men and women of the movement for independence, will guide us in the commemoration of historical facts, Borgo XX Giugno up to where the people of Perugia strenuously defended their freedom against the army of the Pope, entered the city through the monumental Porta San Costanzo.
Pages that Bruschi's paintings come to life, a painter of Perugia, which has graced palaces and churches of Perugia with images of Risorgimento, whose artistic genius was also expressed in other issues, like the biblical frescoes in the Oratory of the Santissima Annunziata.
Moments of art that become part of an exciting and educational tour at the same time, the pursuit of our collective identity that is expressed in the monuments, architecture, place names and in the culinary traditions of our city, from north to south without a solution continuity.
