In The City Center, At The Palazzo dei Priori
The museum collection is the most comprehensive and complete in Umbria, for the variety and number of artistic works ranging from the thirteenth to the nineteenth century.
The consistency and the value of the collection in 1863 led to the establishment of a Municipal Art Gallery, named after Pietro Vannucci. In 1918 it was ceded to the Italian State and assumed the name of Regia Galleria Vannucci, then the National Gallery of Umbria.
The works are exhibited with a chronological order: the third floor that between the thirteenth and fifteenth century, those on the second floor between the sixteenth and the nineteenth century.
The path is interrupted by monographic sections dedicated to: Umbrian fabrics, jewelry, ceramics, graphics and ancient topography.
Among the works we remimd just the best-known as belonging to artist past to history, whose very name is synonymous with masterpiece
