A San Gemini, Nel Sud dell'Umbria, un Museo Laboratorio Dedicato al Nostro Pianeta
The Geolab is a permanent exhibition space dedicated to the dissemination of Earth Sciences.
A laboratory, rather than a museum, which hosts a series of interactive machines that take visitors to observation and scientific experimentation.
The tour winds through five rooms along a route that, as a sort of progressive zoom, takes visitors from the discovery of the structure of the earth, to read the landscape and the main geological features of Umbria.
The video presentation made by Piero Angela introduces the topics to be addressed.
The first room opens with the discovery, thanks to a special lens, of the division of the Earth into large plaques. It then enters the center of the earth, to see how it's done the interior of our planet.
In the second room, the visitor, with the help of an interactive model, discover how the mountain ranges grow, why earthquakes trigger and volcanoes form.
In the third room you come to geodynamic events in the Mediterranean area and Italy.
The fourth room is dedicated to the birth of Umbria, fossils and microscopic examination of the secrets of the rocks.
In the fifth room can get major points of geological phenomena and Umbria. The Geolab is a great adventure, an environment rich of ideas and emotions.
